What in the heck is going on?

You may question why I am doing this, but I need to know why Debian and MS-DOS think they have the entire HDD to themselves? both show it as being a standard 420 MB hard drive, and files keep falling off the edge(maybe one OS overwrote the other). WHY?????? I have tried partitioning and repartioining, using different versions of LILO nad GRUB . . . WHY??????

You're gonna have to give a little more information than that. How exactly do you have your partitions set up, and what exactly is happening? Also, what type of machine is this on? BTW, 420MB really isn't enough for a good Debian install..
