If they are right the XBox360 had a nice success for a first year, I didn't think its sales were so high.

I don't know how reliable nexgenwars is, but the 8 million figure sounds plausible. They had sold over 6 million by the end of September and they seem to think they are still on target to hit 10 million by the end of the year. Wikipedia says that sales are up to a little over 8 million as of Dec 06, but doesn't list a source for that figure.
I think the PS3 is going to have a very hard time catching up. Microsoft is going to be in a very good position to either lower the price or change up the bundle by the time Sony can get a sufficient number of units on the shelf and we won't be seeing much in the way of new PS3 exclusives until March. Microsoft seems to finally be getting some traction in Japan with Blue Dragon (though they have a long way to go) and Sony isn't even in the running yet in Europe.
The Wii is a bit of a wild card. It's certainly be doing well so far, but it's unclear how sales will hold up after the initial hype dies down.
