Do the gameboy carts have a save battery?(eg Metroid, Link's Awakening, etc.) What funky things could happen when it dies? What is its life span? How do you replace it if you can?
Yes, they use batteries - at least Metroid II and Zelda do. My Zelda game just disappeared when the battery died, this being at the end of last year - I guess that's about how long they last Open up the cart with a 3.8mm Gamebit screwdriver, rip out the old battery, and stick in a new one - I believe it's a CR2032.
