looks kinda like a VGA port, i dont know though. I dont even have a regular game cube, so i wouldnt even know that is out of the ordinary if it wasnt for him saying so.
I have my doubts that it's a dev unit. Possibly a modded test unit of some kind, but dev units typically use stuff like SCSI and proprietary interface cards/carts combined with a normal unit, or a more specialized unit that doesn't externally look a whole lot like the consumer version (e.g. Dreamcast and the Katana Set 5) to get the job done. I suppose the 9-pin connector might be fibre channel or something along those lines, but I'm not holding my breath.
The GC Dev unit use large rewritable carts with a funny looking handle on the top. Aparently they did this to save developers the cost of always having to burn gold testing discs.

If it's not a variation of a dev kit (I did see that one with the cart), then my best guess is it's either some homebrewn dev kit, or someones failed expiriment in trying to rip games.
