MAKE A SEGASATURN BUILT-IN MEMORY CART

What is a good PCB thickness to not have any issues with height? I was thinking of 0.8mm to keep it low with the IC on top. Do you recommend the typical 1.6mm?

MAKE A SEGASATURN BUILT-IN MEMORY CART

Could you release your schematic files like in the first post even if it is difficult. Also will the PLCC-32 memory chip be too tall when it is on the PCB and motherboard? I am finding these to be much cheaper in cost than the tsop version of AT29C040A and if they fit without issue I will go...

MAKE A SEGASATURN BUILT-IN MEMORY CART

I did see his video of this and if he releases the info or files like he has I will look into providing this as a complete board. Assuming we can get the required IC. Just in case anyone is wondering I do plan to give @tzmwx a donation from my sales (once I have these built and working) since...

MAKE A SEGASATURN BUILT-IN MEMORY CART

I waited for quite a few months to see if anyone would pick this up and no one has so I am looking into providing them for people pre-assembled so I will be needing the chips. I ordered some to try out and hopefully they work out, I will post info once I have gotten all parts in.

MAKE A SEGASATURN BUILT-IN MEMORY CART

Do you have a list or some links to reputable sellers you have used? I assume the No Brand AT29C040A are not a good choice.

MAKE A SEGASATURN BUILT-IN MEMORY CART

I am a bit confused about that green wire which I assume is to manually turn it off? Can you explain that wire and how to use the on/off with manual and automatic? This info is not well covered in the original post. Thanks.

MAKE A SEGASATURN BUILT-IN MEMORY CART

Can other Flash Memory be used? I am looking at other Memory IC that are easier to find like the SST39SF040-55-4C-WHE. Also would you be willing to share the design files or if not could you export the DXF of the PCB with Drill Holes? Thank you.

SDLoader v0.12: run binaries from SD Card and backup/restore saves

Ok thank you, I thought this was some new exploit as i have been out of the scene many years.

SDLoader v0.12: run binaries from SD Card and backup/restore saves

Quick question, does this boot without a modchip or boot disc? Can it boot off a stock Saturn? From the videos I have seen from @tzmwx it looks like he goes into the memory menu then exits out and it boots the SD Loader software. I made my own adapter and it is not doing anything like I have...

    USB dev cart project

Thanks for explanation and schematic picture, I only need 1 pcb as of now to see if it will work for what I have in mind. I don't need any components as I can solder those on without issues.

    USB dev cart project

Ok thank you guys for the reply and info. I had an interest in flashing the AR firmware on these but ultimately I don't think there is any cheat tool that used to exist that will interface with the USB. Do you guys know of a way to get it to interface with hacking tools like GSCC2002 without a...

    USB dev cart project

Ok more question, can I use the SST39SF040 in place of the SST39SF010 on your board? I see that the one I want to use has 2 extra address lines A17 and A18 and wondering is it ok to leave them not connected aka floating? or will the have to be tied to ground?

    USB dev cart project

Ah I see, I was unaware that it had been implemented and figured it progressed to the current stage it is in now because of the CD block being dumped. A quick question: What should be the minimum Memory Size for my project 1Megabit?

    USB dev cart project

Well the whole thing behind this is a bootup cart that Cyber Warrior X (he's a member here) coded as a replacement flash update for the AR/GS carts which uses an exploit that was found recently after the CD Block was fully dumped. I hate to ruin the functions of my AR 4+ so I wanted just a...

    USB dev cart project

Ok I decided to go with a 5v tolerant memory IC (MX29F160) and I know I have some errors on the schematic but would need to have them pointed out to me if you could take a look at the schematic I have. Please point out what needs to be fixed or dis/connected, thanks in advance...

    USB dev cart project

Wouldn't using a 3.3v regulator bring the voltage down to power this chip? Also using the chip above how should the wiring go? Should A1 on cart edge go to A0 on chip? or does A0 on cart edge go to A0 on this chip?

    USB dev cart project

Hi guys I'm interested in wanting to build one of these and possibly make changes by getting rid of the 2 Flash chips and use a single 16bit Flash chip instead of the 2 8bit chips with also removing some of components used in addressing of the 2 8bit chips. I plan on using a SST39VF1601C /...
