Honey I Blew Up the SNES - Modifications gone wrong...

Well, I bought myself another SNES, and guess what? The bloody thing stopped working! I am **very** annoyed and figure I've done something wrong again... the funny thing is I didn't even mod it! Here's what happened: - Bought SNES, took it home, took it apart, noted that it had the 160-leg...

    Fitting a 50/60hz switch to a 1995 model PAL SNES - *grumble

Considering the last console blew up, I went and found myself another PAL SNES... and it's one of the new, annoying ones. It's a 1995 model machine labelled 'SNSP-CPU-1CHIP-01' on the board. Instead of the myriad of little chips, this one's kind enough to plonk a chunky 160 pin chip labelled...

Country chip switch... - Attack of the modifiers...

Just a quick question (that will probably be answered by ExCyber again ;)) about adding a switch to control having the copyright/country/whatever chip enabled or disabled allowing one to play imports on your SNES... Where abouts should I get the 0v/+5v points from? I'm already drawing the above...

Honey I Blew Up the SNES - Modifications gone wrong...

Thanks for the input - I guessed I'd fried it to that degree ^^;;; Is there any way of fixing te problem? i.e. new voltage regulator? Or is this one SNES that's gone to heaven? You're the king ExCyber! -Mangaman-

Honey I Blew Up the SNES - Modifications gone wrong...

Okay, I was going to the trouble of adding a 50/60hz switch and a switch to enable/disable the security chip... and now the damn machine won't work. No power is going through it at all - the light LED thing won't even light up. Hence I've fruited the machine... or so it seems. But my question...

Help with getting old NES to work - Damn eBay...

Oh, it stopped resetting all right, it just won't load up games. Just a blank screen. My guess is that something on the board has blown, holding up the data transfer. Can't imagine what since the board is in excellent condition. Any ideas? I think this one's dead :P -Mangaman-

Help with getting old NES to work - Damn eBay...

Well, I disconnected pin 4. No constant resetting, just an aqua-blue screen. Adjusted the cart slot so it hugs the carts and the PCB firmly, and no change. Looks like it's fruited :( Still, thanks for the idea mate - I appreciate it :) -Mangaman-

Import games - Yet another "how do I get imports working" po

On the cart slot front, here's a Q from someone fashioning their PAL machine to be multi-region - Any guides as to how to adjust the PAL cart slot for US games? I don't have any US carts atm, so I can't test for myself... any ideas?? -Mangaman-

Help with getting old NES to work - Damn eBay...

Bought a NES and games off eBay. The guy said "[it] does not load games well" on the page, so I thought a good cleaning of the carts and the inside would solve the probs, like the NES Repair guide suggests. Stupid naive me, the guy sold me a (probable) dud. Still doing that irritating...

    NES Mods - RGB, s-video, 60Hz

I checked around GSX and some other sources, but couldn't find any info on how to get stereo audio output from the NES, nor composite video via a RCA connector (versus the RF box). Any ideas on where I can get the details? Thanks!! -Mangaman-
